So, did you tell Mr. Buttermilk that sometimes we ALL have to do things we don’t like to do?

Just wonderin’ – who got to eat the marshmallow cat hat after Buttermilk was finished wearing it?

Poor Buttermilk, does not look so happy. Maybe she should try a little bit of that dog food her buddy got into a week or so ago.

weird thing about those Snowball marshmallow hats? they LOOOK really yummy but noone likes em much! I buy a few for the little boys a couple of times a year just to see their little eyes light up-but then I clean up a LOT of chocolate crumbs and find marshmallows (missing a few bites) draped over milk cups etc. This time Anner sat with his top and just stared at it smiling to himself for like 20 minutes–it was soooo funny-then he would grin bigger and take one tiny bite and stare some more. after an hour we finally noticed the poor kid was falling asleep and had a fever—so now I am imagining those marshmallows with swirls and things like in a school house rock cartoon-moving around and smiling all sugary yummy!
They never remember that they don’t really like them either!

I’m 45 years old and I can’t seem to remember that I don’t really like those Snowballs. They’re gross, but they look SOOOO GOOD!

You make me laugh, Dandelionmom!!
See?

LOL ABM—glad you laughed! Did you ever look at the cartoons and music videos (not really videos yet but you know songs you watch onTV) from when we were kids and a little earlier than that and at the clothes and carpet patterns and wallpaper and think–what kind of trip was that person ON when they designed THAT???
You’re right about how good they look too–it’s like you just want to give something so pretty another chance!

Okay, I feel better. When I saw that marshmellow thing I was so confused. You are a fabulous baker, so why would you buy those yucky things? Maybe it would be better if all baked goods tasted that nasty. We would never need self control again!
How’s the little man? Hopefully the marshmellow thing didn’t revisit and leave you swirling designs to clean up.

Yeah, everything was SO psychedelic back then, wasn’t it? Didn’t even NEED drugs to be trippin’ in the good old days!
Then again, I suppose all you (and maybe other people too – teehee…) need nowadays is a couple of gooey marshmallow Snowballs!
Conjunction Junction, what’s your function…ladadadeedadadadumdum…
Can’t quit thinkin’ of School House Rock now. Thanks for that!

Oh, I love School House Rock. Why did they ever take that off the air. When I was teaching the kiddos the Preamble of the Constitution, we looked it up on YouTube. What a help it was. We the people, in order to form a more perfect union. . . But the one that gets really stuck in my head is that poor old Bill. I’m just a Bill, sittin’ here on Captiol Hill.

Did you ever see a toddler standing and staring down at some of that psychedelic carpet ABM? They sway!
(maybe I do too
) Conjunction Junction is always the first one in my head too–but my FAV is also Bill! “i’m just a Be-ull, yeah Ahm only a Be-ull, and ahm sittin here on Capitol hee-ull…” Thanks for the reminder guys! I think a few minutes on Utube is in order!! OOOO–perhaps a blog post too–I declare today SHR Bill Day!!

How in-ter-est-ing, a noun’s a person, place or thing…

??? You folks are speaking other languages. What country are you from????? Marshmallow snowballs? Carpet patterns?? A bill on Capital Hill? I guess I’m TOO OLD to understand what you are talking about, right, ABM?
When I was a kid we had Captain Kangaroo and Sky King and Mighty Mouse. They didn’t confuse television with education. Why back in my day….
Is Anner doing okay?
I like the new forms of cat torture. I never thought of giving them hats out of marshmallow.

Yeah Anner is better-Buttermilk is still a bit sulky though–thanks for asking!
I remember Cap. Kangaroo and Mighty Mouse and UnderDog too I prefered Gilligan and Hogan’s Heroes and Gidget for my rerun-watching time though!
How ’bout The Monkees??? I know I was watching old reruns but I loved the opening sequence! LOL That song is my ringtone now…very fitting…”Here we come…walkin down the street..getting plenty of looks..from every one we meet”
November 17, 2009 at 6:36 pm
Mary
Yeah, I was a Monkees fan, but, of course, I remembered Mickey Dolenz from Circus Boy when I was little. I think that was on in the same era as Rin Tin Tin and Zorro and the Lone Ranger. But I was watching first run, not reruns of those. Because, as ABM is quick to point out, I’m OLD!
The reason that those cartoons looked like drug induced visions–do you know what artists did back in that era? I mean if you were an art student and you didn’t make at least make some attempt to try weed or even LSD, then you weren’t serious about art.

I’m so glad times have changed. My boy will probably end up somewhere in the art world. All that free love and everything is a bit much for this conservative momma.

— what kind of people think putting a mashmellow on a poor cats head is funny i mean ——- buttermilk didnt like it its fur would of been all sticky i feel sorry for your animals
ed. note (heehee always wanted to call myself an ed.)this note showed up in my moderation it’s not SPAM and Kandis does have a right to say she feels sorry for Buttermilk even though she emasculated him by calling him an “it”. I did do a bit of editing to clean up the vulgarity–and for once would like to point out that the spelling errors all belong to her. Maybe next time Buttermilk steals a marshmallow gooey thing and plays with it on my clean kitchen floor I will rethink my evil ways…nah

I can’t resist the urge to defend myself here–how odd is that– I don’t even KNOW this person who decided to swear in my comments….Buttermilk has free reign to come and go and is most often inside with us so I doubt he feels abused in any way–and I would like to point out the obvious for those who have never peeled a snowball–they are NOT sticky-coconut on top and cakey bits on bottom and a rubbery middle-I gave his head an extra little pet and he was clean as can be—–there-I feel better.I doubt she will even read it though-looks like she was surfing around looking for places to say inflamatory things THERE a mispelling of my own-no TWO!-HA!
