Did ya’ll notice that I won a most splendiferous contest over at Kenleigh acres?? It arrived in the mail this weekend! LOOK!

This felted bag is beautifully made-felted so neatly that I can’t even SEE a seam-wonder how she does that anyway? She has a very cool wet-felting tutorial on her studio blog-her farm blog (which I have followed quite awhile since she has Jacob’s and talks about them a lot
) is about farm stuff-both have her cute boy livening up things too! Check her stuff out! She has an Etsy store too-really nicely done with high-quality things-I bought a print of a sheep painting from her a while back-top-notch! NOW…I wonder if she would do up a header and avatar for the Etsy shop I have been playing with starting?
Thank you very much Kenleigh Acres!! I will feel so very stylish and artsy with my unique felted bag! I really love that the sheepy on the front is made with Jacob wool too!
And since I spent awhile browsing Jacob pics on your sites while copy/pasting addresses for this post I feel the need to add some gratuitous pics of my four photogenic Jacobs!!

left to right they are: Bathsheepa, Reuben, Sheharezade and Hatsheepsut!

Reuben is definately the “looker” of the bunch donchathink?

I’m so glad it arrived safely and that you are happy with it! You Jacobs are beautiful
Reuben is a looker – where did he come from?
Check out – http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7662821 – for some really nice and extremely affordable etsy banners and such. My friend – Joan at Mud Ranch – made my etsy banner
I look forward to seeing your etsy store!

THANKS! I’ll check those out! Reuben came from a lady in S MN who needed to size down her flock for health reasons…she gave me a free wether (reuben) with the 3 ewes I bought–except when we sheared him this spring there were some extra parts under all that fleece!
He seems to be a non-functional buck instead.
The store is there with some hand-painted sock yarn in it-but I want to do it up right before I show it to people!
Thanks on the names NOTSO–we had fun with them! I miss being able to call Reuben my Bellwether (now that I know he is not a wether)-it was a fun term to throw out there!

Reuben’s horns look like something out of a Dr Seuss book. What would he do with those? They go opposite directions. Etsy shop? I suppose that is for people who do things with yarn? Like knit? That would mean you are spinning? There is obviously a whole other world out there that doesn’t include shopping malls and libraries. I am curious about this world.

You spin your own wool? I knew you were impressive, but you’ve moved up yet another step on the cool ladder. I may just have to crash your farm next time we go home. (I’m from MN.) Sewing, growing, knitting, painting sheep. . .too much fun.

A Betty
Rueben is downright scarey with those enormous horns! I wouldn’t want to make him mad. Are you going on the bus trip shop hop?

LOL Mary-he scratches his back with them of course! Etsy is an E-bay for crafters-if you want a unique hand-crafted item or need some special supplies for something you want to make-Etsy is THE place to go! anything at all!!
Tami! Can I hold you to that?? Bring “grub clothes” for the little Nomads-It’ll be FUN!

Hi Betty! Thanks for “delurking” and leaving a comment! His horns do look impressive-but he is only a bit bigger than 1/2 the size of big sheep so not tooo scary!
Summer and fall are not good times for me to leave and play all day–that bus trip is very tempting though! If I wanted a bunch of the MN State fabrics I would probably do it-but I just am not that into them you know? Riding with you on the bus would be a blast too!

Have you heard? ABM is cheating on us over on that FaceBook place. Or have you been out there, covorting with her?

Thanks for the heads up-I just spotted her confession. Where did we go wrong Tami?

You can only do your best to raise them right and give them high moral standards. What they do after that is their own responsibility. They may sink into the low standards of Twitter or Facebook and leave their blog to languish, evermore.
Unless anyone thinks we can stage an intervention?

HHHMMMM….interesting concept Mary…cept how do we get her to come back to the blog for one? Maybe they should do one on Facebook–but they can be such enablers over htere I don’t see it happening…any ideas?

I have made contact on Facebook. I can’t really see what the draw is, all they talk about is mommy things and stuff like that. It just seems to be the popular crowd. I guess we could grovel.

I think it is the thrill of visiting one’s past. Catching up with friends from long ago, all from the comfort of home. No travel, no scheduling hassles, no expense required. I know my sister, Jody raves about the fun she has. (I live vicariously.)
But, how to get ABM back? HMMMM. . .now that she has tasted of the instant coversation, the network. ..I don’t think she’ll leave it behind. . .BUT, remember her most recent post? When she talks of having lots of love, enough for 8 children. Maybe just maybe, there could be room for all. Jody seems to manage both worlds. Except she can be a bit stingy with her posting. Perfectionist.
ABM? If you are reading, and not sucked inot the lure of FaceBook. . .do you have room in your heart and “free” time for both? Can you enjoy your new love, without leaving us bloggers in the dust?
I think this may be our only hope.

And I ask you, do you see cute sheep like that on Facebook?

What a beautiful bag! You must be very excited!!
BTW…I’d LOVE your grandma’s two week sweet pickle recipe!! My email is whitehousequartet at gmail dot com. Anything that grandma did routinely that took two weeks MUST be amazing!
Hope your puppy is still doing well!
