Cute chickies!
I spotted the odd boot in your header…do I win anything?
I had to make clothespins with names on them to get the kids to put their boots together…before that, the 10 black boots were forever in a jumble!

Yeah-the boots stayed that way for a day and a half! Now when I see them around the yard I tell one person to put them back (big pile) and then another one to line them up–ALL our boots are odd Nadja! They fit us better that way!
Your boots are way better BB–and the photo is composed so much more artistically too. Mama Buffy is a killer mama-she pecked anything that moved within her reach and made threatening chicken noises!

was that post just for me??? I love love the boots in a line, I’d like a pair like the frog ones! Is it like musical chairs expect w/ boots and odd one out has to do the dreaded chore? Do yu have the dreaded chore at your house? Ours is taking to dog ALL the way out when its raining, or the early morning out!

Oh how adorable!!!! Our favorite chicken is named Buffy too. Has something to do with the fact that she’s a Buff Orpington. Can’t get any of ours to sit on their eggs though.

Yep-Buffy is a Buff Orpington! She hid from us and showed up with biddies one day-still not sure where she went! Chickens are weird aren’t they Vicki? One day they lay anywhere in anybody’s nest and the next they are death with feathers to anyone who approaches THEIR eggs! And BB? THIS Buffy could SOOOO take out a vampire AND his slayer!
All my Buff Orpingtons are named Buffy–all the roosters with long hackle feathers are Fabio too 
Dreaded chore? outside it would be anything involving poop–inside–matching socks for 10 people *shudder*

Awww. I like chicks. That high pitched peeeep peeep. We tried to raise chicks once when I was a kid and a racoon ate them all. It was depressing. So, my dad never let a hen sit on eggs after that. Some of the hens were rather abusive when we gathered the eggs.
Love the boots.

I love the way the chicks look when they start to fledge. They look like punk teenagers (which they are in a way). Take a picture and share when that time comes and I will be chicken satisfied. I can hear the peeps in my mind. My husband won’t let me have a dog, I already know what he would say to chickens.

Oh Mary! Just “surprise” him for Father’s Day!! Hang tags around their little necks like omelet and Benedict! Chickens are so much fun and fresh eggs make time spent in the kitchen worth it!!

You mean she just disappeared for a few weeks and came back with the babies? Incredible that they managed to survive it all. Now that’s an easy way to get new additions to the flock!!!!
