Our children have proven the nature/nurture debate answer with finality!!
Railroad Dad and dandelionmom were both raised on Sesame Street and, well, LOTS of umm shall we say…contemporary media?
The seeds (esp the smaller ones) have not been-the little guys have never seen it at all. Today I have discovered that no matter how we try to advance our own tastes and consider ourselves “refined” or even “sofisticated” we still are drawn to those early-trained tastes!
Proof is the following video… We parents laughed so hard and then noticed the young ones and their totally patient with the oldsters deadpan expressions–course we laughed more then! They did not learn that muppets spoofing old rock songs are funny so…. nurture it is!!
Leastways they didn’t dis my skoolhows rock!!
Presented for your approval (hmm or not?) Bruce Stringbean in “Born to Add” FYI–I screamed when the sax came out!! watch at least that far!
You watch–didja chuckle?
I saw this cute list on momlovesbeingathome’s place. Time to start gearin up for storm season and check those flashlight batteries etc. Her post is fun and funny -while it is a bit early for us northlanders, our time’s a comin’. Everyone around here (even those transplanted for more than a year!) can point to tornado damage and tell the story. Isn’t weather fun? We get such variation here-my fav is the thunder-snow-shower –amazing! And the list is right on the money when it says we can’t understand how anyone can live in an earthquake prone area! What’s your favorite way to view God’s power? Did you ever sing How Great Thou Art because you heard thunder?
